Des Moines Positions

Part-Time Secretary 

Responsibilities include answering telephone, assisting clients, updating files and data entry.  One year of clerical experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail required.  Hours are:  Sunday 4:30pm to 8:00pm and Monday through Thursday, 5:00pm to 8:00 pm.  Must be available all hours listed for the schedule.

 

Iowa City Positions

Childcare Provider 

Will supervise children.  Previous childcare experience preferred.  Hours are Monday5:45pm - 9:00pm, Wednesdays 4:45pm - 8:00pm and every third Saturday 1:15pm - 2:30pm.  Must be available all hours listed.  Not just a summer position.

Nurse 

Substance abuse treatment agency in Iowa City has an opening for a Nurse.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 2pm to 10pm.  Responsibilities include assessment and monitoring of detox clients, utilization review, and addressing health issues related to substance abuse.   RN with psychiatric/substance abuse experience preferred. 

Prevention Coordinator

Non-profit agency has an opening for a full-time Prevention Coordinator for substance abuse and HIV programs. Responsibilities include implementing school-based prevention curricula, participating in community coalitions, creating and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences, and implementing drug free workplace trainings for area businesses.  Will also coordinate an HIV prevention program and conduct HIV and Hepatitis testing and counseling.  Duties will primarily be in Johnson and Cedar counties but occasional travel to Washington and Iowa counties will be required. 

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling, Education or related area and two years of related experience.  Familiarity with issues related to substance abuse prevention, HIV prevention and community programming desired.  Excellent written and oral communications skills including public speaking, presentations, teaching/training, and writing.   Must have valid drivers license.

Clinical Manager

Local substance abuse treatment facility has an opening for a key position in its Iowa City residential facility.   Incumbent will provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff in additional to bed management, facilities management, and ensuring licensure compliance.  Will work closely with community agencies.  Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Health Administration, Social Work or related field and three years of related experience including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.  Please include a cover letter with salary requirements.

Fund Development Coordinator

Responsible for the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors, maintenance of donor database, and will assist with the planning of fundraising events.  Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in a related field, minimum of two years of successful fundraising experience, knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Secretary, Part-time 

Responsibilities include greeting clients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, maintaining contracts, and updating client files.   Hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 8:00pm.  Must be available all hours listed.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, experience with multi-line telephone, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Site-Based Counselor

 

Full-time opening for a Site-Based Counselor to provide substance abuse prevention and counseling services at local high school. Incumbent will provide education, support, and referrals for students as well as consultation for concerned staff and parents.  Responsible for developing and facilitating educational presentations and school-wide prevention campaigns for students, staff, and parents.  Qualifications include Bachelors Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education or related field and at least one year of experience working with adolescents.
