MECCA Executive Director/Chief Executive
Officer
The Executive Director/CEO reports to the
Board of Directors and directs all clinical
programming, prevention services, marketing,
fund development, public relations, finance,
IT, and human resources. The Executive
Director/CEO is also actively involved in
representing MECCA at local, state, and
national work groups and organizations.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Masters degree in health, human
services, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
with substance abuse and mental health
services. Experience with prevention
services desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful
management experience in similar
programs
- Effective verbal and written
communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work at both
strategic and tactical levels, including
implementation of evidence-based
practices
- Strong leadership skills, including
people, processes, projects and budgets
- Proven record of securing funding
through county, state and federal
sources, as well as private and
foundation grants
- Demonstrated experience leading a
mission-driven, community-based
organization, preferably a
not-for-profit
Des Moines Positions
Fund Development Coordinator
Will be responsible for the
identification, cultivation, and stewardship
of donors, maintenance of donor database,
and will assist with the planning of
fundraising events. Qualified candidates
will have a Bachelors Degree in a related
field, three years of related experience,
knowledge of fundraising principles and
techniques and strong written and verbal
communication. Grant writing experience
strongly desired.
Clinical Supervisor
Due to expansion, MECCA has an opening
for a Clinical Supervisor in our Des Moines
residential facility. In this position, you
will have the opportunity to influence
program development and provide leadership.
Other responsibilities include program
implementation, clinical supervision,
personnel management, contact with referral
sources, and licensure compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology
or related field or equivalent relative work
experience required; Master’s degree
desired. Must have, or be able to obtain,
CADC certification within one year. Four
years of experience in the field of
substance abuse treatment and two years of
supervisory experience required.
Chemical Dependency Technician
MECCA Des Moines has openings for
part-time Chemical Dependency Technicians in
its residential facility. Responsible for
monitoring and documenting client behavior,
caring for clients and coordinating
treatment with counseling staff. Evening and
weekend hours available.
Iowa City Positions
Substance Abuse Counselor
Responsibilities include
individual and group counseling, case
management, development and implementation
of treatment strategies, and documentation.
The successful candidate must be flexible,
work as part of a team and be comfortable
working with individuals with multiple life
challenges. Experience working with
adolescents and ability to speak Spanish
desired. Bachelor’s degree in human services
field and two years of substance abuse
and/or mental health experience required.
